Steve Routh - Wednesday, July 19, 2017

Johnny Steven Routh, age 60, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at his home in Saltville, Va. Steve was of the Church of God faith for 51 years. He was an honorary fireman with the Saltville Volunteer Fire Department and worked for 32 years at Camac in Bristol, Va. Steve was preceded in death by his brother, David Routh, grandmothers Virgie Routh and Georgia Mercer, and nephew Seth Kestner. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Linda Routh, parents Harold Dean Routh and Carolyn Harper Routh, brothers Woody Routh and Rob Routh, both of Chilhowie, nieces Tori Routh and Karmyn Routh, nephew Caleb Routh, sister-in-law Anne DeBord, good friend Bobby “Flop” Roberts, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and devoted companions Daisy, Coonie, and Smokey. Funeral services for Steven Routh will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. R.L. Frye, Pastor James Gentry and Pastor Shawn Womack officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Mount Rose Cemetery. Linda, and family we grieve with you. Ron and Steve worked at Camac together for many years. He was one of Ron's dearest friends. I heard many funny stories about those two. Ron's heart is broken.  Ron, isn't doing well, he seldom is able to get out of the house. I am so sorry to learn that we have lost Stevie. I remember him as someone that always brightened everyone's day. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Glad he knew the Lord and made heaven his home. Sending you my condolence; sorry for not being able to make it to the funeral home. Cant make it to the grave side, we work Saturday.

Linda, I am so sorry to hear about Steve passing away. I will always remember him for his  funny sense of humor when

yall used to come to my Granny's (Minnie's) house to visit. He would say such funny things.I know that God will help

you through this  and I will be keeping you in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of Stevie's death.  I have such fond childhood memories of us.  Our prayers are with the family.

Rob/Woody & Family Sorry to hear about Steve's passing. My Sympathy and Prayers are with you.The last time i talked to Steve i helped him pick some apples.


I was shocked to hear of Steve's passing. It happened on the same day Ronnie passed away. I'll always remember Steve's crazy sense of humor. If there's anything I can do just ask. May God wrap you in his loving arns and comfort you in your time of greif.
